LiveFire Labs Student Lab GuideHow To Take This Course You will only need to have two windows open on your computer system while taking this course. One window will be a web browser containing the student interface (this is the window you are reading this from), and the other window will be for the Telnet connection to your assigned lab system. The web browser/student interface window will be used to view the course content, and the Telnet window will be used to complete the hands-on lab exercises. Case Sensitivity Everything in UNIX is case sensitive. This includes your username and password. Make sure your keyboard's Caps Lock is set to off before logging in. Course Conventions 1. Course content text is in bold when emphasis is being placed on an important concept. 2. The course's hands-on exercises may build on the results from a previous hands-on exercises. It is recommended that you do not perform the exercises out of order. 3. The "Try This" image contains detailed instructions for a hands-on exercise: When you see this image on a course page, click on it to display the instructions for the exercise. |
