UNIX System Administration

This course will teach you the fundamentals of administering a server running the UNIX operating system. The course's hands-on lab exercises are completed by connecting to a dedicated UNIX system in our Internet Lab. You will be granted root account and console-level access to your assigned system, which enables you to perform and monitor low-level UNIX system administration tasks such as system reboots remotely from your work or home computer.

	Hardware Devices and Drivers
	The UNIX Filesystem

	Adding and Removing Users

	Backups and Archiving

Prerequisites: Completion of our UNIX and Linux Operating System Fundamentals and Korn Shell Scripting courses, or an understanding of the concepts covered in both courses is required.

Course Length: You will have access to the online course material and your dedicated UNIX server for 2 weeks (24 hours/day)*
