In
the top right corner of this interface, you will find the course navigation
arrows, the bookmark icon, the full window icon and the search box:
- The course
navigation arrows are used to move from one section of the course to
another.
NOTE: For most students, using the course navigation right arrow to sequentially step through each course topic is the
best method for moving through the course.
When you enter a new section, the corresponding area in the course table
of contents tree (left side panel) will expand automatically.
- Bookmarking a particular course topic with
the bookmark icon is useful for two
reasons:
(1) you may want to return to a specific
topic that you do not completely understand for additional study
(2) you may want to bookmark where you left
off at the end of a study session so that you can quickly resume at the same
location
To
see your bookmarks, you simply click on the “Bookmarks” tab in the left side
panel and then click on the bookmark you would like to view.
The
search box can be used to locate
specific course topics. For example, if
you wanted to locate all course references to variables you would type
“variables” in the search box and either click on the magnifying glass to the
right of the search box or simply press the “Enter” key on your computer.
When
the search is complete a new “Search” tab will appear next to the “Table of
Contents” and “Bookmarks” tab in the left side panel. To view a topic from the search results list,
just click on it!
TIP: The search box comes in handy when a word
or concept is used and you do not remember the specifics about it. You can use the search box to locate when it
was first introduced in the course and other locations where it appears for
more details or usage examples.
- The full
window icon can be used to declutter the course manual interface, allowing
you to focus on the current topic content only.
Using the full window view versus the default two-panel view is personal
preference.
- When in full window mode, this icon is used
to return to the default two-panel view.
